Supported by the RISE Project of Swiss NGO, Helvetas, and ARTICLE 22, weavers in three mountain villages in northern Laos are provided with silk and other production materials. Our mission is to develop their talents for the taste of an international market, empowering women to generate income through culturally relevant means such as hand loom weaving.

SQUARE TASSLE SCARF

Silk is organically dyed and hand woven in a remote village in the north of Laos. The women in this village weave at looms under their stilted homes. The square shape and corner tassles add a modern touch to this traditionally crafted piece. This scarf can be worn in many ways - like an ascot on a cool spring day, as a head scarf on a misty morning or simply draped around the neck giving accent to a rough tumbled leather jacket.
